Notice on Fire Drill at E2-L1 IT Central Research Facility

To further enhance fire emergency response capabilities in the data server room, a key fire safety area, and ensure the proper functioning of fire protection systems, the Information Technology and Data Intelligence Department, in collaboration with the Campus Facilities Management Department, will organize a fire drill at the E2-L1 IT Central Research Facility on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, from 13:45 to 15:30. Relevant details are notified as follows:

I. Drill Information

Drill Time: 13:45 – 15:30, Tuesday, July 28, 2026

Drill Area: E2-L1 Server Room (Refer to attached drill layout map)

Participants: IT Central Research Facility operation and maintenance personnel

Emergency Assembly Area: Open area between Ground Floors of Building E1 and E2

II. Drill Arrangements

1. Fire Suppression

(1) Practical demonstration on the correct use of fire extinguishers;

(2) Enhancing the initial fire suppression capabilities of server room operation and maintenance personnel.

2. Emergency Evacuation

(1) Familiarizing server room operation and maintenance personnel with the emergency evacuation procedures, as well as the locations of fire escape routes, evacuation sequence, and safety exits on campus;

(2) Improving organizational, coordination, and emergency response capabilities during a fire;

(3) Ensuring that on-site personnel can evacuate the fire scene promptly and calmly in the event of a fire, thereby reducing casualties.

3. Inspection of Server Room Fire Protection Systems

(1) Inspecting the integrity of the gas fire suppression system;

(2) Checking the normal operation of the emergency exhaust system.

1.     This drill is exclusively for the operation and maintenance personnel of the IT Central Research Facility. Faculty, students, and staff in nearby areas are advised not to panic upon hearing the fire alarm. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

2.     In case of severe weather such as rainstorms, the drill will be postponed, and further notice will be released separately.
